The Boat Fish & Chips

I have gone to this restaurant 10 times on my visits to Coos Bay. This time I initially ordered a to-go 3 piece cod meal, but after talking with the person that took my order I "upgraded " to the 5 piece. When I got back to my hotel I had 5 small (3" long) pieces of fish and maybe 1/2 cup of fries. I had asked for extra starter sauce and was told it was in the container....only one serving of tarter sauce. Although the service was friendly to take my order....the meal I paid for was not adequate nor representative of previous times I have eaten there. Maybe it was on "off night".

super cool dine in experience near a measum and the bay! best fish ive had in oregon! fresh and tasty! get the halibut or the fish and chips! the prawns are to die for and are good portion sizes!

A must try! A super cute environment to bring the whole family for some fresh seafood! (They have more than seafood for the kiddos and those not super into it)The cod fish and chips are hands down amazing! Calamari fries dipped in the tartar sauce super bomb! 🤤 Prices were decent also!

Just got home after having a delicious meal at The Boat. My husband ordered their fish sandwich and I had the cod and fries. The fish was incredibly fresh for both our meals. Although the fish was deep fried, it was not greasy at all. The staff there is friendly and service was great. Luckily, we're locals so we can enjoy another meal there soon.

We are out of state visiting family. The food was great. the service was good! I ordered a fish sandwich, and when it came out, it had a small hair on the fries. I told my server, and they had my food remade quickly! Good recovery from an accident. Had a great meal with good company. The only downer was that there are no fresh oysters on the half shell on their menu.

Great fresh hot food here! The service is great too! After I told the waitress something a little personal about my diet she immediately made wonderful suggestions about what to try and I did and it was fresh hot and faster than I expected it to be 😇🥰💗

The atmosphere is casual and boat themed with a museum next door. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The waitress was very nice and quick. The clam chowder was great and the fried steak bites were tasty. I wish they were served with gravy 🤣The coleslaw was perfect, not too wet.Overall a nice place to get fish and chips as well as some other items. There is something for everyone.

We enjoyed the atmosphere even on a relatively cold day outside. We liked the pet friendly atmosphere even though it was outside which is understandable. The waitress was very friendly and attentive although they were not busy on this day.The fish n chips portion to pricing was not at all what I expected. It was more like a couple chips of fish and a small amount of fries. Potatoes are cheap. The 4 pieces of fish together is what I would expect for one piece of fish at other places.That’s a one n done for us.
